Wow...it seems like it has been so long since I first posted here. When I posted in this forum over a year ago I had just received my truck. Now someone is coming to my house this weekend to look at it to maybe buy so I can get myself a '03 HD - I am excited. Time flies!

Angry

22 here,

I thought I was the youngest on this board, but I guess not. -- I'm a bit jealous of all the lucky kids that had thier parents buy them this truck. Then again, I doubt that they get the same feeling of satisfaction that I get knowing that I've really earned mine. -- Proud to say that I pay for everything on my own.

Heck, I had a neighbor kid who turned 16 about 8 months ago, and his parents bought him a Volvo 870. I thought that was ridiculous. Now get this, had another neighbor kid who just got his license and his parents bought him a Mercedes ML320 SUV. Can you believe that crap?? Hell, even if I could afford it, I wouldn't do that. What happens when the kids grow up and they can't finance their tastes without mommy and daddy. I have always had to pay my way, even my first car when I was 16.

Oh well....

darkroller, I know EXACTLY where you are coming from man, I thought when I first joined, when I was 21 , that I was the youngest on the boards. I also thought it was a big deal to have a HD, no matter what year, as young as I was because even used they are expensive (and Id be paying for it all myself).. I have a 00.. and to see these 17 yr olds with 02's does make me a little jealous. but its ok. Aside from the supercharger, I like the look of the 2000 more.. I think the stepside bed makes it look more sporty (more lightning-esque). Thats why I am not fiending for a 2002, or a 2003 for that matter.

all I have to say is, if your parents bought you your HD, please, and I really stress this, let them know how thankful you are and please take very good care of it. I hope you respect your parents enough not to drive like a maniac and expect them to just buy you a new one.
I just want to add you have good taste for picking this truck anyway out of any other vehicle (especially a ricer!) and as long as you dont act spoiled you are cool in my book!

Just turned 44... on 9/11 of all dates . 3 kids, 2 mortgages, 1 wife and having too much fun! Hard to choose between the HD, the coupe, the Scout, the '60 Vette, the Ski Brendella, the Sea Doos... now thinking about picking up a 9 or 10 sec race beast 'Stang .

Actually the satisfaction is multiplied when we don't have to send in payments every month. I really don't think I could be more satisfied with my baby. I treat her well...and she does the same. I stick up for her when I need to.

I can't wait for the day when we get a single 18 year old girl with a HD. I will be all over her. I call shotgun if that girl ever does appear.
