Question Ford Harley Soft Tonneau Cover

Does anybody have one of the Ford Harley Davidson Soft Tonneau Covers with the Harley logo screened on it? I saw it on the Ford web site, and was wondering if anybody has one or has anyone seen one.

Thanks for the help.

Harley Tonneau

It says on the Ford web site that each snap has the Harley logo on it. Is this true? Also, how does the logo look? Is the color and quality good?

Thanks again!

tonneau

I just got my HD about a month ago, and I'm trying to decide which type of cover to go with. The 97 F-150 that I traded had a ARE fiberglass cover and I really liked it. Im not sure if I want to go with that type again or go with a soft cover or even go with one of the roll type covers. I like the clean look of a fiberglass cover, but I also like the soft cover with the logo on it.

Aquaman is right, the 2001 HD's don't come with a tonneau from Ford. I got the lock set in the glove box, but no cover from Ford.

By the way, when I took delivery of my truck, one of the salesman had taken my truck for a drive, and he hit a curb with one of the 20" wheels. I told the dealer that I wanted the wheel replaced. They replaced it with a brand new wheel, and they gave me the old wheel! Only has a slight scratch on the bead area of the rim. Pretty cool!

hey cobra, if you like the look of the logo but want a fiberglass tonneau, couldn't you just get a logo screened onto it? "
and thats pretty awesome that the dealer let you keep the scratched rim. I'd have it sitting right in my living room if i had an extra lol. I'm guessing they used the old tire on the new rim?

one more thing Cobra, I got my truck July of 2000, and the one rim was pitted and dull. Do you think that they would replace it for me, even though i've had the truck a year? It might be worth a try

20" wheel

Yep, they just put the original tire on the new rim. If I were you, I'd go into your dealer and have him look at the rim. If the finish is dull, I'd make them get me a new one.

I kinda reasoned with the service manager about my original wheel. Since it was damaged by one of the salesman and not damaged during shipping, the dealer had to pay for the new wheel. And then the service manager told me that since they would never have any use for the old wheel (this is the only Ford dealer within 60 miles of me that had a 2001 HD), I might as well just keep it. The service manager at my Ford dealer is a really cool guy. I'm trying to figure out what to do with it, but still keep it readilly accessable in case something would happen to my other wheels. I might just hang it in the garage next to the truck.

hey cobra, if your not sure what to do with the extra rim you can just mail it to me . but anyway do you think the dealer will replace the rim since the truck is a 2000, a year old? the other 3 rims are fine, its just one rim that is dull.

Cool

Sell it on eBay. There are plenty of people looking for them.

Use it for the spare and dump the steel 16"

BTW: when I scratch around enough cash I will probably get the ARE lid for my truck. I might pass on the spoiler though. I plan on creating my own custom design for a vinal screen print decal. I know a local shop that makes them for the bus advertisement. I haven't checked on the exact price but I think it should be between $100-$300 for a one time shot.

Hey Harley#356, I'll send you the wheel, but shipping and handling charges would be around $600! (just kidding). I'm trying to get my wife to let me hang it in the game room kinda as a conversation piece.

Abullerm, that logo thats shown on your post, where did you get that? If you made that yourself, could you send me a copy of it? There is a place near me that does custom vinyl screening, and if I get a hard cover, that might look really cool on it.

It was stolen from the fordharley site. shhhh The original had the F150 to the side and connected to the shield but I always thought it looked goofy so I moved it to the bottom. The original was low res and I even dropped it some more so it would load fast in my sig. The image is in my member's photo gallery but it is only 100x100 pixels.
