Talking Good Idea!

I did the 2" lowering shackles and it ended up only lowering it about 1 1/2" but it helped the looks by taking out some fender wale space and evening out the look of the truck. It also helps a little in the handling department, the truck doesn't seem to want to roll as much. I would say go for it!

Question

Hey Harleyboy,
Did the rear lowering shackles effect your wheel alignment at all .. I'd like to also lower my 2000 HD (in the read only).. What about the ride, Did it change it positive or negatively ?

I'm not sure if the shackles affected my alignment but my truck was slightly out of line when I took it in for alignment and rotation. This might have been from the dirt road that I live down though. So really what I'm tryin to say is that I'm not sure if the shackles will affect alignment or not? They didn't seem to have any affect on the ride but it did seem to help a bit while cornering.

I think it's to be expected to be out of alignment when you adjust the suspension. But, was it corrected with the wheel alignment ?

I couldn't even tell but it was fixed and now the truck turns a little easier than it did before.

Unhappy Shackles!

I'm sorry man I can't find the box anywhere, I know they're here somewhere but I don't know where! The shackles shouldn't be that hard to find though. You can get them at AutoZone and O'Reilly's and several other places that carry aftermarket stuff.
