Buy something lighter than a 6000lb truck

Change the pulley on your supercharger...im sure its around 7psi stock.

A 12psi pulley would be a nice perk.

Add 100 shot of NOS. The S/C is the main thing beside a shot of nos to really get the truck moving.

Definetly get headers and exhaust. Get JBA Headers and look for a good exhaust that you like. Im personally going to go gor Gibson SuperSports to maintain the dual side look.

Though getting more air into the engine is good and give you more horses, too much without letting the engine breathe to let it out can be harmful and you may see less than satisfactory HP gains from your aftermarket products.

Also, try to get a larger throttle body. I believe the 2001 Lightning got a 80mm TB this year. Ask you dealer for one.

Supercharger is the biggest kick in the engine pants, so anything else after that will be incremental. I don't know if anything else will really kick up the HP (aside from getting NOS) so if i were you, I'd just try to make the truck nicer looking and sounding, with nice rumbling exhaust system (which may help with HP somewhat, but I doubt you'll notice), hard tonneau (which I hear helps a lot of fuel mileage) with spoiler, stereo equipment upgrade, etc... *drool*

Since you have a roots style blower kit...it more than likely replaced your stock throttle body with something larger.

Hi Jason,

Yes, there are still a *ton* of things you can do to wake that motor up further and make more power.

Larger mass airflow meter & throttle body, headers, underdrive pulleys & converting over to electric cooling fans are just a few of the more immediate options. I would also take a look at installing a booster fan on the intercooler for the Magnacharger to further reduce incoming air charge temperature, and the list goes on and on and on............

If you'd like to go over this in detail, please feel free to give us a call & we'll be happy to go over all of that with you.

Here's a man after my own heart, never enough power!
