hey guys, looking for a little help if anyone can. I'm considering taking my Saleen wheels off my 331 and going with something lighter..... The Saleen wheels mounted with rubber are right at 100lbs each which is of NO HELP when it comes to getting this thing moving in a hurry. Have any of you weighed your 22 inch wheels with tires just to see what they weigh?...... And by any chance are the aluminum rather than steel?

The ones I was considering going with are the polished with black "spokes" ones. If anybody can help I'd appreciate it. Thanks

 

My stock 22's weigh 100 lbs with the tires mounted. The tires are maybe 50% worn. My winter 17" Ford steel wheels with 265/70/17 Blizzacks weigh in at 80 lbs and you can really feel the difference in acceleration when I switch the wheels. That sounds awfully heavy for a wheel. Most tires weigh between 40-50 lbs. Thats a lot if weight to turn!
