Question Anyone design a sub box???

Need more Bass

I was just wondering if anyone has installed 2 10" in there 2000 Harley? I've been fooling around with a few designs with my installer but just can't settle on one. Anyone have a design that they have used? Specs would also be good. Thanks a lot

Paul

There is not enough room under the rear seat to build a box that will hold 2 good 10" speakers and have the proper volume of air.

go with 8"s

Try Andy at www.subbox.net. I have two 10" dvc Fosgate's in one of his enclosures - nice construction and color match too! - looks stock

Thats was what I was thinking of using. Hows the sound quality with the Rockford DVC. I planning on using JL WO's. I used them in my Camaro and they sounded great and hit pretty hard. Did you have to raise the back bench to fit the subs under the seat.

Prices....

Looking at the design, I thought I liked it until I saw the price. Is that good?
I talked with a dealer who said he could build a neat enclosure that would fit inside the rear console, with a little loss in storage. Pull the console, leave it a week, and reinstall.
Thoughts???

I HAVE THE 10' DUAL DOWN FIRE WITH 2 INFINITY PERFECTS 10.1'S IN MY HD F150. THE BOX FITS LIKE A GLOVE AND IF A PERSON WERE TO LOOK BACK IN THE REAR OF THE TRUCK THEY WOULDN'T HAVE A CLUE THAT THERE IS A SUB ENCLOSURE THERE. AS FOR THE PRICE, I DON'T THINK $140+SHIPPING IS BAD AT ALL. IT'S VERY MUCH WORTH IT!

PS: MAKE SURE YOU CHOOSE SUBS THAT AREN'T THAT DEEP OR YOU WILL HAVE TO MAKE MODS LIKE I DID.

Sound is great - didn't want to 'cheap' out on looks either so I went with the custom box , had to put a 3/8" lexan spacer ring for clearance in box so I could use a better speaker though. IMHO the only thing better than a couple of 10's would have been a couple of 12's -but definitely no room for that

almost forgot - it fits under the seat perfectly - I did not have to raise the seat

rube - I installed a sub in my rear console. I lost all storage space in order to allow for max air volume. The custom enclosure was pretty expensive. ~450... but the sound... it's perfect! I'm using a JL 8W6 wired to 3ohms. The sub channel on the amp does 100 watts at 4ohms... so it's getting a bit more than 100 watts...

I'm a bit wary of putting in the subs, after having drained my battery listening to the radio in the drive-in. (dealer put in a new battery and told me that the factory-installed one was "inadequate" -- hmm, maybe something silimar to heavy duty radiator fiasco?) I kinda like my rear console too, although I don't really use it much. But I can imagine using it as a cooler during a long roadtrip with friends. (line it, fill it with some ice and bre... uhh... soda and watch the miles go by)

I know that other F150 users have raised the rear bench in order to stuff a sub setup under there. I wonder if that's a option for us too...

I know it wasn't cheap for the console job but I don't see a lot of alternatives. We bought the truck to haul a trailer and use it for trips, so like you siad Chaen. I hate to lose the storage space if I'm carryin' passengers.
Keep researchin.....Rube

I think I am going with the sub box from SubBox.net. I was hoping someone would say that they tryed it. Can't wait to roll 5 km under the speed limit just pounding.

That's an awesome install. Very stealthy. Is there a way you could have removed the rear bench and added a cushion to the box (100% stealth appearance) for an occasional passenger?
