Removing H-D script from bedside
Removing H-D script from bedside
Have any of you ever removed the chrome Harley-Davidson script off the bedsides of you trucks? I took the "swoosh" off my 2010 and it left nearly no residue behind, wondering if the letters will come off the same way. I really don't want to scratch the paint trying to get a pile of adhesive off.
OP the only problem I see you having is if there are "alignment" holes for the letters. I wanted to remove all my badges and found out real quick that Ford puts holes behind most of the badges because they don't want you to remove them. If there are no holes than you should be good to go with a heat gun, some fishing line or a plastic scraper, and some goo gone.
Well ok then. Just so everyone here knows, there are no "alignment holes" (never heard of such a thing). You can simply remove the lettering by carefully removing the letters one by one, then cleaning off the thin residual "glue" however you like. Goo Gone is great, but you don't even need it for this job. They will come off fairly clean and when you wax over it you will never, ever, even know they were there.

I used "glide" brand dental floss and a pair of leather gloves and a plastic putty knife.....start a back and forth motion like flossing your teeth.....get part way through and use the putty knife to pry the letter and adhiesive tape off....follow up with adhiesive remover and wax....

Um, ok.
