Could use a few tips...

What's goin on guys. I've been talking to a few people from the site about upgrading my truck. It's an 02' HD F-150 that just turned 100k. She's got some miles on her but damn does she run nice.

I have some simple questions and some pretty in depth questions. If you have a HD and you've done work to it I could use some advice. I'm looking into pulley upgrades, performance tuner, final drive gearing, and a new MAF. That's what I've been looking into for now but I've only been on this journey for about a week now. But let me say this... my goal is to reach 500 horse. Starting out I want 12-14 lbs of boost on the SC plus the Performance Tuner. I'll see how she handles it and take it from there. If you know your **** send me a message and let's get a chat going.

500 hp at the crank or 500rwhp?
If your talking about 500rwhp I would highly recommend a built block!
And you cant run that much boost without a upgraded MAF and a custom tune.
+6# pulley.

Big air MAF 24 or 2800

Plus a custom tune will get ya close without blowing it up.

Ok well sounds like 500 rwhp might be too much to ask. I don't want to rebuild the whole engine. After all the truck is a daily driver so I want to get as much as I can out of it without getting 12 ft to the gallon and going sideways around every turn I take. I'm starting with the upgraded MAF, an upgraded lower pulley, and a Programmer. Now I just need to find the right ones. Thanks for the help guys! Keep the info coming it's working out great for me.

If you are doing this as a DD and with the amount of mileage you have on that truck...I would suggest doing the following:

4-6# lower
change your plugs to NBKTR6's
Upgrade that MAF to a BA-2400 (you won't need higher unless you plan on building that motor)
CAI - doesn't matter which one, they all do the same
Cat back exhaust (anything but flowmaster)
L&S oil seperator
Boost Gauge
A/F Wideband Gauge
Dyno Tune

Then just avoid 2 gear kickdowns, WOT runs in weather that is 55 degrees or colder, and no WOT runs with the OD on...the stock rods are crap and will break.

You won't be close to 500 rwhp with any of the above...probably in the range of 350 rwhp but it will wake the truck up and if you stay out of boost when you don't need to, then your gas won't be that bad.

Just to give you an idea...I modded my 2003 with a K&N CAI, Maggie Cat Back, BA-2600 MAF, NGKTR6 plugs, and a 8# lower and she dyno'd at 396 rwhp & 496 Torque
