Post Tranny cooler on HD's ?

I had read previously that others have a tranny oil cooler on their HD's. Mine doesn't. As far as I know I couldn't get any type of trailer option in order to get it. I want to know of any others have the auxillary cooler and what option package they have on their truck to get it. I would like to put one on mine and I'm debating whether to go aftermarket and hack it up or buy a factory bolt on unit (if possible). Any input would be appreciated.

Your saying you only have one "Smaller" radiator core in front of your Main Engine Coolant Radiator?

The one on the passengers side is covered by some sort of bracket. It looks different from the drivers side but it is indeed there.

I checked mine thoroughly, just the ps cooler. The tranny oil lines go directly from the tranny to the side tank on radiator, no cooler in between.

Thanks Jax,

You have a 00HD right? Mine is an 01HD, hard to believe that may make a difference. When ordering I was told I couldn't really order any kind of trailer package to upgrade those bits, the HD already has a decreased towing capacity, due to wheels and tires I believe. If you have the tranny cooler, I'd like to try and figure what package you had on your truck that I couldn't get that resulted in your having this cooler.

My 2001 does not have an external tranny cooler. I wonder if we could retrofit a factory one?

That is what I am hoping. I have to take it in for service this week (leaking water in cab on pass side) and I'm going to ask the service dude this question.

The 01 L's have a tranny cooler standard. Probably the same transmission.

LowriderHD2000, what did they do? how do you know they fixed it, did you soak it down good? I'd like to know so I can compare with what they do to mine.

I checked on tranny coolers when I was in for service yesterday. The cooler itself is about $80. There is no line kit or whatever. The parts dude said that the computer indicated to use bulk tubing and make lines to fit. That sounds like a crock. Damn, I just want to buy some parts and put a cooler in. I may have to go after market but don't really want to. I wonder if I could just get the stock type cooler so it mounts good then have to use some good quality rubber hose to 'splice' into the existing tranny lines. Thoughts, opinions?
