Post 1340 Engine Upgrades

While they have the Road King down for repair, gonna get away from the factory paint and go with a metallic graphic base coat with chameleon top coat, red/gold scheme. Any one have experience with this? Also gonna have the heads done by Dave Mackie, and put on a 2 into 1 Thunderheader or Hooker pipes. Anyone running a 2 into 1 system?

Dealer replaced the dinged rear wheel todat...found dings inside the tire area, so looks like a factory ape dropped it. The dealer JUST hapend to hae a Hunter 9700 and guess what? No weights on the outside. Got an appointment to have them rebalance the other 3 wheels

Ride Safe.....

You think reworking the stock head is better than an aftermarket Edlebrock or Revtech or maybe a Screaming Eagle head? Going hi comp pistions while your at it? As for the pipes, I'm partial to the Vance and Hines long shots on a bagger. They go all the way back under the bags, full circle heat shields (no blue) and sound great. Of the 2 pipes you mention, the Thunder pipe sounds incredible, pretty loud, but very impressive.

The 2 into 1 will give a little more flow thru the heads, and help scavenge the opposing cylinder's exhaust stroke. Not really keen on the noise, just looking for the added 'punch' off the line. Only problem on the bagger is the exhaust out one side. Tends to make it look a little unbalanced but I'm getting used to the appearance.
Thanks!!!

I'd say if you don't want the noise then you better find someone who has the thunder pipe and listen before you buy. They really sound out from what I've heard. I've been to Daytona bike week several times since it's just down the road and I've just about heard them all.
