Question Loud Screech from Engine During Shifting?

If I slam the pedal to the floor when the truck shifting it sometimes makes a screeching sound. Anyone know what the problem is and how to fix it??? Thanks in advance.

Is there a service bulletin about the tensioner?

Mine is doing the exact same thing, whenever I put the pedal to the floor and the truck shifts a loud screeching sound comes from the engine compartment. It sounds like the belt and I had my belt replaced by warranty and it still does the exact same thing. I think I will take it back and tell them that it wasn't the belt and it needs to be fixed whatever it is. It just sucks that a brand new truck should have to be taken in for warranty on something like that with less than 5,000 miles on it.

It's off the subject but Harleyboy reminded me. When I parked the truck last night the odometer read 0055500 It just looked cool!

LowRider, go have your belt tensioner replaced, that's what most are having done, including myself.
Also a chance of another pulley that's bad..Good Luck

I do think that they gave us the shaft! I'm 18 and most people give me heck about having this awesome truck and just starting college. But just for the record I'm paying for it myself, don't have any money but boy do I have a sweet ride! I think I might take mine in Monday to see what they think about that screeching noise!

There should be one, everyone with 2001s that I've talked to, have had this same problem, go figure, it will take Ford years to figure that one out.

Would flooring it off the line regularly have anything to do with this? I don't floor it until I've got a rolling start since the tires tend to spin--no chirp, just spin
