Cool

Congrats, fella! Looks like you can finally start relaxing now that all the good stuff is in!

You caused me to go look at my plaque again. It is 3007 built on July 26th. I didn't buy the vehicle until 09/28 though. Probably took a couple of weeks to get to a dealer then it sat on the lot for awhile.

My truck was up in MN at a huge Ford dealership that had 5 of the HD trucks in stock. My local small dealership purchased mine from the MN dealer and sold it to me. I went up and picked it up in MN rather than having some hot-rod kid driving it back.

In another room, people were making a big deal about what day the trucks were made. Apparently, Monday and Friday vehicles are made with a little less care. Mine was built on Thursday. And by the way, I bought in on Dec 20.

Mine was a July 26 build as well according to the window sticker--patiently waiting for the offical paperwork from Ford to confirm. Dealer got it two days later--only 100 mi from the plant.

Question

Hmmm... My window sticker says 07/19/00 as the build date and the plaque says 07/26/00. Makes me think they didn't make the plaques the exact date?

Or maybe there are some trim items that don't 'finish' the trucks that are done at the same time regardless of line build date. dunno but good question to ask when we visit the plant in August.

The only date I've found on my window sticker is down at the bottom with the VIN number /dealer number, etc. Could this date just be when the Vin number was assigned, and then the truck was actually built later? My date on the sticker is 9-14, but my certificate says 9-21. That would explain the difference in the dates. Just guessing here!
