Lightbulb Hard Tonneau cover

Has anyone recieved their cover from Ford made by Leer? I ordered mine back in December when I got my jacket. Still haven't seen it.

Leer has shipped the covers, slow but they sure have. Monday I called leer they said mine was shipped. They told me to call the dealer. I told them I work for the Ford dealer I purchased truck. they said I should try the Leer dealer and see if they got them.
So I DID call. got one girl who said "I think there is something here from Leer, that know one knows about" nice girl honest, so she transfered me to another girl, nice too. She said " yes they got some covers from Leer at no charge but did not know the story on them. She took my name and number and said she will call me back before she left for the day. And she did, she said "the covers are for the HD F-150 for Ford from Leer can we schedule an appointment" I said "you sure can" I am going to bring the girls flowers. Anyway she told me she had others to install for our dealer. I said oh ya, I know nothing of others cause we only got one truck and I purchased it. so she looked further into paper work and found the dealers name and the dealer name changed a month ago or so. anyway you might want to call your dealer and find out about them. they might not know. or call the installer, the covers might be there in storage. or they might be installing them on other trucks and charging the customers. hehehehehe, anyway I had to do the calling and its a good thing I did, I wonder how long the covers were at the installing dealer, Later
oh mine is going to be installed thursday at 9:30 in morning, so I will let ya know!

I called the Leer HD number and found they were shipping my cover (First Part of June) to a different dealer than what was listed on my record sheet. I called info and got their number and was told the store I wanted was no longer in business. Called Leer back and was told they would have to talk with the sales rep, and to call back the next day. Have tried the last two days and get a message machine saying "away from desk or busy" and leave message. Then a voice comes on and says the message box is full and to try back later. Round & round we go!!

hay badd

I dont know all the answers, and I hope I dont disappoint you. but you may or maynot get the things your looking for. I really do hope you do. when Ford or anyone has something done for them, like the people who made the dash plate and keychain, its like a one time contract. Ford gives them the names of the ones sold at that time and has the things made and then thats it. I really do hope I am wrong on this, it would be nice to know that all the trucks would get one. maybe if they do it on the 2001 super crew they will have yours made at the sametime.

AI have been on this issue with Ford. As of the first week of April, they were shipped and should arrive in 4 to 6 weeks. About time for another call!

Called Leer today...lady said my cover HAD ALREADY SHIPPED!!!!!!!

Next call was to dealership, who promptly told me they had no clue as to what I was talking about.

Next call was to the Leer Factory authorized install place where the cover was shipped to. The also promply told me they had no clue as to what I was talking about but would call the dealership and get back to me.

*sigh What is this world coming to.

I spoke to Jenifer at Leer. They are getting bombarded with calls. Sometimes you get voicemail but can't leave a message. Anyway if your persistant you'll eventually get through. The story is that they had to make 6000 covers.Right now they are distibuting the ones ordered before Christmas. In my case they *recieved* the order in March, even though it was sent in January. She said that it will be here at the end of June. Of course we have gotten the *check is in the mail story* before. Regardless, the number for leer is in another post and it works. Has anyone considered some kind of class action suit against this baloney?

Hello
I am the happiest man here, hehehehehe

anyway my covers was installed Thursday the 17th. sorry about the delay in responding back. It is so good looking. the guys who didn't order one and purchased and aftermarket one are going to ****, it is an awesome cover. looks so cool on my truck. even the guys who installed it said they have not seen anything like them.

anyway the leer dealers who are getting them are only getting VIN numbers, They are not getting the Ford dealers names or the owners names. As a mater of fact the Leer dealer who installed mine knows I work for a Ford dealer and gave me a list of the VIN's they have covers for and asked me to see if I could get the selling dealers of the trucks names so they could call them and tell them that they have the covers for there customers. Ford and Leer are droping the ball on this I think. Let me tell you what its worth the wait

This cover is nice, I mean the truck is nice but once you get the cover its a total diffrent truck. you will not see another cover like this for a while

As I posted in the other thread.

Some of you will be waiting a LONG time for your tonneaus.

of the 10 that were shipped to the Jax Florida install shop. 7 had to be returned due to damage incurred during shipping. The box leer is shipping them in really really sucks. The only padding is on the corners and the cardboard is not very thick.

I got really lucky that mine wasnt damaged at all.

I called leer today and was told since i didnt get my lock cylinder it would be the end of june before my cover shipped. They are still waiting for them to come in. So if you didnt get a cylinder your screwed till the end of next month. She was able to tell me where the cover would be shipped though, so I can just contact them instead of leaving it up to my dealer.

yost

the cover is worth the wait. if you can get the install done on your own thru the Leer installer that is better, that way some 16 year old kid is not driving your truck to the installer from the Ford dealer. I wonder what happen to your lock thou? did the dealer keep it. did you discard it. did the dealer trade the vehicle to another dealer and the first dealer keep the lock.(this happens, when the dealers trade vehicles they take off all extra stuff in the vehicle that they want to keep, like floormats and loose parts and stuff, its sad and I have seen it happen all the time)(the ford explorer sport (two door) with the removable center console bag is always missing on dealer trades) sometimes the shipper or transporter takes things off them. the shippers for Ford that ship from railhead to dealers or the most reliable but they dont do dealer to dealer transporting.Just wondering.
