Question Paint chips on air dam

I am finding that the front air dam is really prone to paint chips. This truck has only been driven in the city. No country or dirt roads. There a a number of areas where the paint is chipped badly. Are any of you finding the same problem?

Mine has about 4800 miles, about 4000 driving from Tx to MO to TX to AZ. Anyway, I do have more chips there than does my wife's P01 Pathfinder with 18800 miles!

No paint chips in the air dam I could see, although it's serving rather nicely as bug graveyard... Gotta clean that off...

I made a boobooo early this morning, acking into my parking spot. On the back bumper, right under the license plate, the metal part kinda flares out a bit, and sticks out a bit more than the rest of the (plastic protected) bumper. Well, wouldn't you know it? When I backed the truck in, I backed it in a bit too far and hit the rear wall... I got a small scratch, and even a small ding. Kinda ticks me off, first for my carelessness, and also for the design where metal would be unprotected in a situation like this. I have to admit though, it looks pretty damn nice as is, and after all, this is a truck. But that kinda put a damper to my morning.

Thats to bad about the ding. I've came close doing the same thing. I have noticed on my paint any major dings, and i'm oon the highway everyday. I've really though only been driving my truck for about 2 weeks. I do have though 2 rock chips already in my windshield. Anyone else notice that. If my windows getting bettin up that much, I worried about the front.

Cool

FYI,

3M makes a clear vinyl tape like material that is designed to be applied directly over paint. Call them for an installation center! I can personally tetify to the clearity, durability, etc of the product.

I was thinking about putting it on. I can also say that I have good things about it.
