Post '01 Lightning Add-ons

I've put on the '01 Lightning fronts, sides, rears and 3rd brakelight....Love it!
All went on without a hitch except for the patience it requires to put the headlights back in, the two washers on the rear and plugging/unplugging the 3rd brakelight. Total time: 3 Beers...I was enjoying myself.

Anyone know looked into replacing the rearview mirrors with the trick ones from the '01 Lightning? (especially the electrics?)

Before your message I had never heard anything about the power rear view mirrors.

Strangely enough, my girlfrieds cousin just called me and asked if I wanted one. She knows someone who works for the company. If all goes well, I should get a good chance to give it a try.

Are there any other posts about these mirrors? I searched for some, but didn't find any.

I have checked into these mirrors and the downside is you have to purchase both the mirrors and the covers with the built in turn signals. You can't just purchase the covers ( Very expensive mod just for turn signals in my opinion..

I have my lights comin in in the next couple days. Is it look good. My brother seen one and says it's no good. I've seen pictures, but they really don't give you the whole picture of how it looks. I also was wondering about the L's mirrors. Alsoi considering saome nice chrome ones.

I haven't found anything about the mirrors, either. I was looking at the Muth mirrors (built-in turn signals); but thought that if Ford has already produced a similar item, why not go with Ford's.

I love the look of the fronts and sides. The 3rd brake light is hardly noticable; but looks better than the original. The tail lights seem to be the controversial part of the Lightning Mods. I think they look great with a stock height or lowered truck...I'm not sure they'd look good on a raised truck--in fact, I'd venture to guess they'd look downright ugly on a raised truck.

I'm sold on the L 6-pack change (fronts, sides, tails) and the 3rd brake light. Let me know on the mirrors.

Cool

I dunno. With more and more Screws hitting the road, I LOVE the '01 L tails. It sets the truck off from all those Screws with the Flairside taillights. There is a guy 2 houses down from where I regularly park who has a new Screw and it makes me really pleased to have the difference.

Thumbs up

Add me to the '01 tail light mod list. Excellent addition! I was unsure from pix but ordered a set anyway. Very pleased once installed. I would like to say thanx for the great posts on the how to. I know I would have busted 'em if there was no heads up on the need for washers! Once again thanx...Peace.

Had the "L" tail lights on order from the local dealer. They came in 2 days ago. The Dealer however "accidently" ordered the normal tail lights. (2 screw-up's in 1 month so far.) The REAL "L" lights should be in Thursday, hope you guys are right.
