Post HD2NV89??

Hi, I see in your signature that you have the Holley Thunder Supercharger.. What do you think of it?

I had looked at that one but was advised to go with the Whipple (which isn't available for the 2000 yet) instead. I'm still considering the options but the holley is quite a bit more expensive.. What does the kit come with?

thanks,
Lanna

The holley thunder is listed at 5grand.. the Whipple, when available (late summer) is listed at 3400.00 So there is a big difference and I'm wondering what is included in the Holley thunder kit - does it have the chip? I think with the whipple I have to buy the chip separately.

I have been out of the strictly pleasure vehicle business for years. The 00 HD Ford is the first vehicle I have garaged in over 20 years. Harleys have been my rides, but age is beginning to creep up on me. I have never had a stock Harley, and I did not want to keep my truck stock. I looked at all kinds of SC, before I decided on the Holley.
The kit comes complete with the superchip (have to be ordered) and Holleys High Flow K&N style air cleaner element. I had intended to put on Holley's Hooker Headers, but they weren't available when I had the SC installed, so went to JBA. After much discussion and reading, I finally went with a Flowmaster Series 50 muffler, but left the tip set up the same as stock. One expense I discovered is that you have to buy the Lightning alternator.(shorter) The results are terrific-I just made a trip to Arizona and was able to cruise at 90 +, taching approx 2300 RPM, with plenty of power left if needed. Cost as mentioned in other reply was 5G. I have no regrets or wish I should have ----
