Buell's
I have this fascination with Buell motorcycles. Lately I have considered selling my Dyna to buy a Buell. Taking the change left over and building a custom bike. hmmmmmmmm
Buells are ok, kind of a bad boy type bike. If I wanted to get a v twin sport bike though, I'd get the original, Ducati. The monster has every bit as much attitude. That sportster engine just doesn't seem like sport bike material to me.

Yup, It's a red one. I restored it in the early 80's. At the time it took me 6 months just to find white wall tires like OEM for it. I understand you can't even get whitewalls in that size anymore. Just wouldn't look right without them. Also don't know if you can get exhaust through Honda yet. It might be possible. I just put a new stock exhaust on my old 76 750. Pretty expensive but I want to keep it pretty much stock. Modified bikes are a dime a dozen. Stock is very hard to find. I have a friend in Nebraska that has a couple parts dreams and tons of parts. If you need anything I can let you know his email.

ahh but the ducati is 300 CI short of the Buell's "No replacement for displacement"
Internally that "sporty" motor has numerous changes. It puts out 101 hp at the rear wheel.

Yeah, I know about them, dual plug heads, hi comp pistons, cams. They are nice but the Duc is in a class of their own. Don't own one yet but would like one. They really are 2 different classes of bikes, just depends on what you want. I like a hot rod type bike but the new Buells need to loose that god awfull air intake etc. around the tank and put a super trapp on first thing. Then it's gettin close.

Hey, lrutt! Noticed the '65 Dream in your sig. I just bought one myself -- the 305 in black.
Had one of these same bikes back in the early 70's and wanted another. Going to work on restoring this one. It runs and is rideable, but needs exhaust, paint, tank badges, and a lot more. Should be fun project.
