A Lightning is faster because it is Supercharged, which gives it 100 more horsepower. There's little you can do to make this truck look better, but K&N makes a replacement intake that will make it FASTER!! You can also add a Superchip to add more power, but this requires the use of high octane gas, which may be too expensive there. Enjoy!!

HAHA a Lightning is alot more then just SuperCharged its a hole different truck, SVT Suspention 380hp, 450pounds of torque, 0-60mph in 5.8 seconds 1/4mile in 13seconds and a hell of alot more. Oh did I point out that its the fasted production truck in the world? Your gonna have to do alot more then filter your truck if you want to keep up with the SVT Lightning's.

I love my truck!!

Wink very happy person

well i picked up the new f150 hd yesterday, and i must say it is the dogs bollocks.i used to own a tvr 4.50 chamera in pearlesnt yellow, i thought that got some looks, but this is even better.there are a lot of people in manchester england with some very stiff necks through turning and gazing in amazment at this lound and stunning vehicle.
why does the lightning go a lot faster than the HD?.My children have said i should put a dukes of hazard type horn on and rearly make everyone notice it>what accesories do you all recomend to make this beast look even better.

Cool

I've supercharged my HD F150 with a MagnaCharger kit, and lowered the truck 3 inches. With the Lightning suspension, there isn't much difference performance wise between my truck and the lightning - and I can bring a few friends along in the extended cab to see the surprised looks on the Lightning owners as we stay right up there with them!

Seriously tho, the lightning is a sweet truck, but I wanted the extra space of the extended cab, and the cool look of the Harley Truck.

One last time the HD's do NOT I repeat do NOT have the SVT suspension. I work at the Ontario truck plant where the Lightnings and HD are built, I'am 100% sure because I'am in the "pit" putting the suspension on the friggin trucks!

01Black-SVT, since my HD doesn't have the SVT's friggin suspension, how about hooking me up. Since you do work at the plant and all! No? OK, I'll settle for 01 taillights. Thanks Buddy :-D

01 Black: you bought a KC build? Any comparison quality wise you'd like to share compared to Oakville? Just curious. I'm very happy with my '00 Ontario HD edition--you guys did a great job at end of July I know we don't quite have the L front--too much bouncy bouncy and side hop; either springs or shocks need more travel, but still luv the truck--just driving within the limits.

By the way, would you guys be interested in hosting an informal get together in the parking lot? If you check the Toronto ride forum we've been trying to get Ford Canada officially to 'invite' us and some interested L owners for a fun ride. Faxed Jack Turner about four weeks ago--no reply. Bring your truck for the ride if you and your co-workers are interested. email cindy.

Black,

If we don't have the SVT suspension, then I am very displeased. The 2000's at least were advertised as having the lightning Suspension and exhaust. Now I know the HD has a 4 as opposed to 3 as the Lightning exhaust has. But I KNOW we have the same muffler. My Buddy's Lightning and My HD have IDENTICAL mufflers --- Markings, dimensions, etc. Now I know we also have VERY similar Suspensions. The shocks and Swaybars are the same. Believe the springs are different (I believe the L's have more sport oriented, lighter springs, beefier springs on the HD). But check with your foreman, I know my shocks say SVT right on them.

Here is the wording directly from Ford literature about the suspension. "The exhaust is a sport-tuned SVT Lightning muffler ending in dual chrome 3-1/2-inch "slash cut" exhaust tips. The suspension is lowered one inch and rides on specially tuned SVT Lightning shocks."

That's what "Ford" says.

I don't think shocks account for the entire suspension system. Let's call it a draw!

This was from another site. Believe what your eyes verify not what somebody tells ya.

"Learned something cool on my truck today. I was at the track and there were 2 lightnings there. We got to crawling under my truck and looking at it and the lightning owners noticed that my truck has the lightning suspension. The front springs have the SVT stickers on them and the rear leafs are the same number as the lightning. Also I have the bilstien rear shocks. In addition if that wasn’t enough good news we noticed that my muffler is the same as on the lightning, a Walker I believe. Also my truck has something these others didn’t and something they wanted: an aluminum drive shaft! Cool huh. We also looked at the brakes and it appears that the lightnings calipers and rotors are larger, too bad. Anyway something that proves these trucks truly are a great value for the cost of the Harley upgrade package."
