Fordtec2001 Congratulations. If you are anywhere as happy with yours as I am with mine you will be one happy camper. These trucks are so much fun and the looks you get while driving them is fun too. Be ready for lot's of thumbs up signs while out on the road. What options did you get? I think I got them all except for the heated seats, tow package and engine block heater. If you got the sunroof you will really enjoy that. Take care,

Just out of curiosity, and it's probably too early to tell, but, do you feel underpowered with the 5.4 in a Supercrew? One reviewer lamented on this but on the other hand admitted this is a cruiser not a tire burner. I know that the 5.4 in my '00 HD is definately peppier on takeoff now after 2k mi than when I first got it. Still contempating a Superchip tho.

Hi Casey. My truck only has a little over 1000 miles on it now but it feels plenty peppy. I love the rumble of the exhaust too. Hope mine gets even better with more miles on it as you suggest. I also hope the superchip and the airforce 1 add to the zip, but I don't think it is puny in it's stock form now. I am kind of a performance nut though. For example, I am seriously contemplating a supercharger, just for the sheer excitement of it. Take care,

So Fordtech how was the first day?? Reports please. Work took me out of town today. I found the speedlimiter. Well this is not the first time I found it but the first time I was able to stay right under it for 40 MILES STRAIGHT! No kidding I was in a remote area of south texas between freer and crystal city (in the middle of no where) where there is high fence on both sides of the road and no one in sight. I cranked up the tunes and enjoyed the ride. My truck was cruising along at slightly above 3000 rpm an a smooth 100. Nice ride for sure. Take care,

Keep us updated HarleySupercrew on how your mods perform as well as other '01 owners. This is the model I was waiting for but with a good deal on the '00 I bit--don't regret it. Have had 5 on short trips with no room complaints, mix of adults and kids. And the performance and smoothness still surprise me in bone stock. I'll keep buying lottery tickets: the '01 edition I saw at the Toronto auto show had me drooling all over again

The superchip flip chip went in today. I only have a few miles on it but it is a definate keeper. All 5.4 ford engines should get this from day one. It definately brings this motor to life. I got the flip only to give me options to run regular gas or in the future run 2 different agressive programs for example if I put in a supercharger. For now it will definately stay in the "go" 92+ octane mode because this acceleration increase is just too fun to turn off. I will keep you updated as things progress, take care...
