Post Transmission type??

I've read some posts on people who've had a few problems with the 4r70 trans they have put in some screws. Looks like on the 2001 HD literature they put the 44E in which I believe is the 4r100. Can anyone confirm this. The trans code on the ID tage for a 4r70 is code u. I would suspect that a 4r100 would have an E on the tag.

The upgraded transmission may also explain why they can now offer the 3.73 gearing rather than the 3.55 we '00 owners got.
