Talking my truck has arrived!

My truck just rolled off the trailer! I still don't know the series # yet but I'll post pics next weekend. I have to fly to NY to pick it up. I live in Atlanta.

Can't wait!

Got mine this evening, last three VIN is 585. What options did I miss if my only ads were moonroof, sliding rear window and 6 disc changer? Mind sharing with me what you paid? Curious to know how I did by comparison. Also where is the build date on the sticker? On the bottom right of the sticker after a series of numbers is 01 08 01. Is my build date 1/8/01?

my truck is #28. Just got back from New York (I live in Atlanta). What a long drive! At least it's broken in now!

You missed the Engine Block Heater, Trailer Hitch and heated seats.

Did you get the personal reminder recorder thing on the visor?

I paid $3k under sticker / no tax.

I'll post pics when I get them developed. I took pictures every fuel stop. I'll also post mpg info.

C'mon, guys, I'm getting antsy here. Ordered our 2001, still haven't a build or delivery date....

We got the same options, but also the heated seats. Other add-ons are the bedmat(dealer says it's included, but Ford doesn't. Did you get one?), H-D tonneau cover, H-D bug deflector, and option for a spray-in bedliner, but we're undecided on that right now.

Dealer totaled the entire thing up, and we contracted 1% over invoice.

The garage is cleaned out, the H-D oil stains are sopped up..jus need the truck.

Whatever you guys get it will be sharp looking! Just saw the 01 edition at the Toronto Auto Show and fully optioned they're showing sticker in $Cnd at 46,293--no tonneau. Was on a revolving stand so couldn't sit in it. Out of curiosity--what is invoice in US? When I bought my 00 HD I figured out invoice based on US %. With heated seats, moonroof, etc this edition seems to be a good pickup at close to invoice. Only deficit I can see in comparison to say a GMC Sierra C3 @ $50k Cnd is lack of power: 260 hp vs 330 in the GMC. The C3 interior really needs more quality control tho--plastic bits kept coming out of their slots. And the HD guages even look better than the 01 L's. Ford has always claimed the HD's to be cruisers rather than power machines much like Harley validates their bikes. Driving impressions as soon as you guys can get to them

Driving report:

The first 300 miles the truck drove like it had no springs... I took delivery with less than 3 miles on the odometer....

After the first 300, the suspension felt like it was reacting more than before...

NOW - 1,013 miles - THE THING IS ON RAILS! It hugs the road like no truck I've ever driven! Good power... my '98 F150 L had better roll-on power (like on the highway at 60 mph - 90 mph). I think it's a weight thing. Doesn't matter - the SuperChip will fix all that nonsense!

I got my 2000 last week and it was 44K cdn. With tax and extras it's closer to 54k cdn. Good grief, I hope the gas milage gets better at 74 cents a litre!!! Got a 5.4 Litre whatever that is in inches but what a drive. 600 km so far but trying not to drive it too much til it gets a little drier out. Just washed it yesterday in the 2c weather. Neighbours think I'm nuts!

bike... any idea whether the 01 HD has the Bilstiens from the 01 L this year--just read a review on the 01 L tested in Texas against a Mustang Cobra race prepped--truck running 54 to 55 sec vs 51 for the Cobra and the new shocks were citied as being a major improvement from the 00's which is what we are supposed to have on our 00 HDs. Comment was made on well the light rear end was planted, same as yours. With our 00 HDs do notice some sideways hop over slightly bumpy roads going fast--dampening and rebound rate not quite to my likening. One thing I noticed when in Atlanta area in '96 was great asphalt on your 2 lanes with some good twisties around Atlanta/Conyors area. Great driving area! Keep us posted.
