Wink Obsessive, Nutso, or Perhaps Just Crazy about thisTruck?!

Am I the only one???

I don't know about most of you, but up here in the north, my HD truck has been garaged almost all of the winter. I did take it out a couple of times, but have yet to get it very dirty. (Shoot, the INSIDE of the rims are spotless, so you can bet it's pretty clean.)

Guess I'm just a perfectionist. But, at least I'm a happy one. And, fortunate enough to have other vehicles to drive.

Am sure looking forward to getting this beautiful truck back out on a regular basis once this snow, salt and slush clears away. Also, have a huge desire to get the bikes back out, but that's another story.

HarleyGuy,
NO, you're not the only one that cleans INSIDE the rims! After all, there's more metal there to add to the entire package when light strikes the wheels.
I'm also glad to have a winter beater, however my other car burned up in the driveway last week, so now I'm totally dependent upon my wife's old '92 Tempo to get outa winter;..................HURRY SPRING!

All I got to say is: HaHaHaHa!
You should move south HarleyGuy. I rode mine a couple days last week!
Nothing like loud pipes in a garage at 7 am.

HarleyGuy, I know how you feel, I just spent last week putting 5 coats of Zaino on my Lightning. This week comes the undercarriage and interior detailing. Winter Sucks!
harleyrider,
I am originally from Alabama and I can't wait to move South again! My brother-in law lives in Lexington right at 398 and I-20.

Maybe US 378 and I-20? If so, that's only about two miles from me. I go there everyweek to the trash recycling center. I also have a friend that lives near there named J. Fairey. Who's your B-I-L?

Angry

Hey Guys,

Yeah, I have to agree.... Winter blows. I picked up my 2000 HD F-150 on December 23rd (Merry Christmas). I've taken it from the dealer, to Denny's, and into my garage. It has not left it's "Laira' since then. I get a tear in my eye when I have to go out through the garage in the morning, past the Ford, to hop into my '91 S-10. Sometimes, I feel down, I get in, start 'er up, work the throttle a bit, and dream of a bright Summer day. Untill then, the Odometer reads all of 56 miles. Damned Snow (F@%$#^G Salt!!!)

Stay Out Of My Taildust,

Mike

Cool

Ahhhhhh... The bright sunny crisp weather of NC only enhances the sound coming from those dual Flowmaster 40's as you ease up on the accelerator.... after you have blown away one of the CHEVY boys....

Nothing beats the semi warm setting sun's final rays bouncing off that ebony body and glistening rims...as she sits in the driveway waiting to be tucked away for another nights rest..

If there was ever a "Garden of Eden" it was here in NC... And the 1st temptation's of man are the F-150, Lightning and of course the HD....

They say God's perfection is shown when he created "WOMEN"... But his love of "MAN" is giving him a "FORD"......

Eat your heart out up there in ""brrrrrrrr""
land

hahahhaha John from NC

Sorry, but I've had it out every weekend since I got it back in November...and not once in the rain. Love that truck.
Used to live in Minnesota...No more winter storage--more miles on the vehicles; but more fun over the winter too. Only problem is finding time to do vechicle projects 'cause I'm always us'n em.

Hey, between Tucson, Phoenix and San Antonio, I've lived in the warm climates, too! Spent over 30 years there. Anyhow, there is a lot to be said for living in the north as well, and I ain't gonna move back to those large cities. I made the decision to move here to a rural area with my family and you can have the cities. Yep, there are trade offs in most everything.

Back to the truck. I was out today wiping out the door tracks, etc. I can't wax again yet as the wax (Zymol) wants the paint surface to be at least 65 degrees. Bummer.

Spring is coming!

With those 20 inch fatties (the chromed rims), you just gotta keep the inside clean -- they just look too cool. Take a look -- the insides are very visible.

Well, as I've posted before, I've kept my HD running this winter: got some F150 alum rims with Generals for a good price and presto, allmost a regular F150 to tool around with about 300 lbs of weight in the bed and not bad for hauling the odd load around. We've had little snow north of Toronto since xmas so have close to 3k Km now. Still luv the drive and even with the softer Generals, still handles very well but am very careful to keep the tail in when slippery. Believe in using what I've bought--it is still a looker and a great driver!

Notice some of you are waxing: be curious which compund works best on the Ford black paint; spring is just around the corner

Unhappy

I get to at least see mine every day when I leave and come home from work. Just teasing me "take me out!"

It's sitting in an underground parking garage with security cameras and has it's own spot with no cars on either side of it.

I occasionally start it up and dust it off. However, I can't wait to get it out again so I can get those people cranking their necks around to look at an amazing truck.

Soon enough, I guess this way it will keep the milage low for future value.
