I have found that alarm systems create more problems than they are worth. If someone wants the truck bad enough, it will be gone with or w/o an alarm. They can also create warranty problems down the road if you have electrical concerns.

agrv8vn, what's wrong with the PATS system that came with the truck? It is very difficult to steal and the system works super well. Why mess with an alarm, too? I'm guessing you want an audio alarm?

Have had truck's stolen, and items stolen from inside my truck, while it was in my driveway, with top of the line alarms. And keep in mind, I live in the safest town in America (Amherst, N.Y.). So as Harley recommended, I keep a 12ga. with buckshot in the cabinet. Hey, I was cleaning my gun when it went off --- how did I know it happened to hit the gang in my front yard??? LOL

Hey..
I have a Nova (used to be clifford) alarm in mine for when I'm away from home. When I'm at home.. my 3 1/2 year old Rottie lets me know when strangers are any where near my house ;-)

gee, you yanks are making us canucks feel deprived: we have to register our firepower up here and I've tried but that 12 guage won't fit in the glove compartment

Casey K

ps: think I'll stick with the PATS since addons seem to go off with weather changes. If someone wants to winch my HD on a tow truck since the engine won't start without the key, then maybe it's worth the effort. I'm more worried about losing wheels and tires than the truck.
