Post What is 400 miles worth?

Ok so I found a dealer that close to home that can get me a truck for 300 dollars more than a dealer 400 miles away. I told them about the better deal and they will "throw in" undercoating. I should push for the bug deflector.

I guess if you figure gas and driving 8 hrs an hotel room for a night.
Plus putting those miles on a new truck the closer dealer is a better deal.

Ford's self-healing undercoating sucks. My first oil change I thought I had oil all over me but turned out to be the undercoating(oil was actually all over the front hoghead-but that's another issue). It is supposed to keep everything covered but when it gets wiped off it doesn't flow back out. My cross member between the front wheels is bare metal just from driving down through tall grass on cut through roads. Don't waste your money. Salt is not an issue here in SC, but you may want to consider that where you are. What is under the truck if there is no undercoating?
Towns with multiple dealers also don't like servicing other dealers sale's. i.e., they put their sticker on truck and you take it somewhere else, you never get served quickly. I always request dealer I'm buying from not to stick their name on my truck unless they are pepared to come off the price $5k because that's my going rate for advertising their name. Now that I think about it, I always have to wait all day for service too! HUUUUM!

No doubt in my mind. You're gonna have to drive 800 miles round-trip, plus a night in a motel plus meals and gas? Get the close by one!

P.S. I'm not so sure I'd want it undercoated, btw. It makes a mess of the underside of the vehicle.
