Ford Comes Through BIG Time -- Money in the Mail!
Received a check today from Ford that covers almost the entire cost of the tonneau cover bought the week after purchasing the truck!
Started working on getting either a credit or cash back when I found out that there was supposed to be a notice telling the consumer not to purchase a cover with the new truck because Ford had a program to supply one later on. (Obviously, if I'd known that a cover was coming later on, I wouldn't have gone out and dropped $650.00 for one.)
Wrote to F-150 marketing, talked to the dealer and called the Harley Program Headquarters. Clearly, it would be a waste for Ford to buy me a new Leer cover, but that was the one last option -- if I had to have two covers, and then attempt to sell one of them, that's they way it would be.
Anyway, my dealer, working with Ford has cut a check I'm very pleased with Ford over this. Guess the Ford stock stays in the portfolio!
The cover was ordered from a different dealer than the one from whom I got my Harley-Davidson F-150, btw. It is a UniCover and it's really a nice unit (see below). The reason it was ordered from another dealer (rather than the dealer who sold me the truck) was because the local dealer doesn't sell tonneau covers. (Small town!)
Here is a picture of the tonneau cover just FYI. (The jaggies in the pic are from the low resolution camera, not actually on the HD!)

I forgot to mention in the above message the fact that Ford had already deducted from my invoice the price of the tonneau cover when I bought it. The tonneau was originally part of the cost of this truck and they had discounted the vehicle because it wasn't available.
Therefore, they weren't obligated in any way whatsoever to give me a thing. Pretty darn impressive of Ford, in my opinion.
