Post Anyone Else notice this?

When I slow down to a stop from any speed...The rpm slowly decreases just like it is supposed to do..but it seems the transmission doesnt let go until the last possible second..hence the rpm drops below the 500rpm mark and I notice a significant power drain. The lights go dim, instrument panel etc. The rpm pops right back up to 700 or so..then settles down to 500/600 where it normally idles while in gear. This happens every single time I come to a stop. Just rather annoys me more than anything.

My trans does the same thing, but not the light dimming thing. When I am slowing to a stop it seems like it wants to keep going, then just before I come to a stop there is the this clank when the trans lets go. I can feel it more than I can here it,really. It's like it's caught in gear til the last second,,,,98

Hi Roger !!
Had the same poblem other than the lights... Brought to dealer and was advised that the "Thig-ama-gig" was blocking the "Whatcha-ma-call-it" and "D0-Bob" hehehe...

Kidding aside....my problem which may not be the same as yours was simply corrected by them spraying lube on some of the linkages...John from NC

Hi,
I notice the clunking when I slow down but haven't noticed any of the other problems. Is the clunking normal?

Thumbs up

Clunking ain't normal. I don't have any problems here. If you are getting a significant clunk, I'd sure have the dealer take a look at it!
