Cool HD F150 Jacket deal in Canada

I just received a letter and Fax Back Form from Ford, for the Harley Davidson F150 Melton Jacket (with leather trim). Has anyone else in Canada received this letter ?
Anyone interested in reading the letter go to www.martinschon.com/HDF150Jacket.jpg

No but it does sound nice if its in the Ford style the sales guys were all wearing 2 years ago. A week after I picked up my truck I got a call from the dealership saying there were 2 fleece HD logoed jackets that were supposed to be included when I picked it up. They aren't as expensive sounding as the Melton model but they were 'free'. Will keep my eye open on the Melton offer--let me know when you get yours. ck

Got my letter today--faxed response this aft--will see how long it takes to get here. Are we lucky people or what! The letter also indicated there would be more news upcoming on the tonneau issue for Canadian buyers--we'll see. The posts so far on the tonneau thread seem to indicate this could be an arduous process. I might be happier with one of the soft solutions.... ck

mschon and casey k:
That's a '4' on the jacket letter;got mine Friday, but not faxed back yet. Looks cool!
I bought a 1/18 Ertl scale model of our truck, and if the hard tonneau that's being worked up at Leer looks like the scale model, you will want to wait for that one, Casey!
I don't know if my letters to Ford's U.S. HD F150 project manager and W. Davidson of Harley-Davidson Corp. had any effect on Ford finally listening to us Canucks, but whatever, I'm now starting to smile with their equal treatment on the tonneau/jacket.
Regards.................Fred

Hey Fred

I'm glad too hear you guys up there are finally getting some results. Congrats!
I'm still trying to find the Ertl model thru local stores. No luck yet. It must be a hot item.

Greg, thanks for your kind thoughts about us Canadians! It surely has been a rigorous trip thus far, but things are surely improving.
About the Ertl model, I purchased mine right from a Ford dealer's parts dept. display cabinet. They apparently had 5, and I got the last one. This was a progressive dealer, as they also had the wheel locknuts stocked.
Model cost $45 CDN (about $5 US ...kidding!)
Take care, and hope you find one.......Fred

A co-worker got me the Model at a Wal-Mart in Calgary Canada for $30 CDN. When I went to a local Harley Davidson store to buy some stickers, they were selling it for $60 CDN. I then also fund a place in a local Mall that wanted $90 CDN. How much are the in the U.S?

Cool

Hi.
I picked up a model at a local auto/parts swap meet for 25.00. I also saw some at the last toy show we went to. They were going for 29.00 at the show. You can order them online also - try internet hobbies, they're reasonable and easy to order from, or ERTL has a web site you can order from. From past experience with other models, internet hobbies was less expensive.

Fred: if we ever get the tonneau issue settled up here in Canada we may have to buy you a beer I'm still not sure whether the soft or the hard version choice and I'd be curious about the Lear design since some seem to work and others ....Only drawback is that I'll be shovelling snow off the back deck this winter before this gets sorted out.

Well, less than a week after faxing my Order Form I have already received my Jacket. I was very surprised how quick it came. It’s a cool Jacket, but I expected there to be more leather. It’s free so no complains.

The packing slip in the box said that it was billed to the dealer that I purchased the Truck from.

Got my jacket Fri as well in 1 week--great service! Ford Cust Service also phoned since I had mentioned the tonneau issue with respect with the way Canadian customers are being treated vs the US guys. The lady said the jacket was to compensate for the lack of a tonneau and confirmed that Ford Canada policy on this issue differs from the US. However, the (a) cover is supposed to be avail through the dealer for about $250 CND--a bargain if true and avail.

Casey,
faxed my order on Monday, received jacket on Friday! Great service, since I was expecting it to trend on out to the 6-8wks suggested.
About Ford CAC, take it from me; they don't
know what's going down. The same day the Ford dealer called me with letter in hand about the jacket deal, I got a call from CAC who wanted to discuss the letter I sent to Ford in the U.S. They did not mention anything of the dealer letter, and indicated there was no further activity happening on the tonneau! As you read in the Appreciation letter, they are still actively working to resolve the problem with the cover, and the way I read it, Ford would be keeping us updated along the way.
So, I have no faith in the CAC. Nice people
but working with tied hands.
Anyway, how's winter driving in the black beaut? Guess it's too early to tell with TO
still in banana-belt degs!.....Regards/Fred
