Cool Very Cool: Radio Data Systems (RDS) Radio

I posted this in the general topic area, too, so am hoping that a duplicate is in order here on the Harley Ford group. Heck, maybe this radio isn't being installed yet in the other trucks?
=====

OK, I have this fancy new radio, but since I live in a rural area it doesn't perform some of its functions. In fact, it plain doesn't work at all!

The RDS radio is supposed to receive and show station ID and program type, even song titles and artists and display it on the LED readout on the radio. Right now, it acts as if it is broken.

Does it work? Will it work without being near big cities? Anyone out there like this feature?

although I have the RDS button everytime I press it it jumps from clock to rds on/off--no other settings so assuming the rural station don'tusing RDS info. Should I be seeing a more extensive menu whether I'm in RDS country or not?

Thumbs up

with the rds pressed
use the button above it (sel) to move around
It takes a little getting used to
It's pretty cool
most of the stations here in Farmington Hills,Mi (outside of Detroit) work
It's only a matter of time before all the stations work

It won't move around if it doesn't sense a local RDS station, I guess. I'm planning a trip to Des Moines in the next month and will see if they have any stations that will activate the RDS system.

It's H*LL living here in the country. NOT!!!

Thanks!
