Finally saw one
Well, the dealership I work for finally got one in. We're getting two, and they are both spoken for. I prepped and test drove the one that came in today. I really like the leather interior and all the Harley accents. The dash is really cool with the brushed aluminum "look" to the gauges. The exhaust sounds pretty nice. It's no Flowmaster, but still nice! It handles like you wouldn't believe. Those 20" rims have something to do with that! The chrome nerf bars are useless as they are appearance only. The bed mat is sharp with the Harley logo. No tonneau cover on this one though. It would be sharp if they had Harley Davidson embroidered logo on the floor mats though, instead of plain black mats. Looks like a wannabe Lightning. But it's a great truck for any Harley fan. Look great towing some Harleys too. I don't want to sound like I'm blowing this up to be a supertruck, and so unbelievable, but it is a really nice truck. I was surprised how nice it really is.

Right on, Sychoholic! I just took delivery of mine today and I ditto everything you said here. I agree about the floormats; woulda been a nice touch alright. Still, for my first-ever pickup, I'm real impressed! Those leather seats with the cross-ribs are extremely comfortable. Well done, Ford!
Just saw my first Harley F-150 today too, great styling, the truck looked really sharp. Wish i could add the truck to my collection?
Good luck with your trucks!

If I could only find leather upholstery like the Harleys, I would recover my seats. See, I have tan interior, and the leather in the Harley is only in Black and exclusive to the Harley.

These are great looking trucks! They look much better than in the pictures you see in magazines. The four Ford dealers in our city got theirs on the same day and all were sold within 48hours. These are going to be hot sellers and when you see one "in the flesh" you will know why.

That's a '4 about the live vs. mag photos of the Harley F150. There's nothing like the real thing, and I'll tell you, it's a real proud rush when I drive that truck down the street! The real deal is how awe-struck (awesome truck?) my truck-driving friends are when they scan this baby!

My dealer said I was issued a vehicle identification number. Excuse my ignorance, but does that mean I am guaranteed a truck?
I put my order in last year as soon as the truck was announced. Also, how can I find out when MY truck will be built and shipped?

All I can say is get to your dealer and hound him/her as to when the truck hits the line.
If you've been given a VIN, the build date will be real soon, and the dealer should have that data for you.
By rights, if you've paid a deposit, the truck is yours, but there are no guarantees!
You just need to be persistent, and get in there before this thing vaporizes.
Good Luck!

A local Harley dealer bought the two we got. He's keeping one for himself, and auctioning one off for a profit. I'm sure he'll make one too.

I saw it, drove it, and almost bought it. (pics on "Andthensometoo" site)
What killed the deal? My hubby said he wanted to drive it. I couldn't let that happen to such a nice Truck!! It takes all I've got now to keep him from driving the one I have.
btw, it sure needs a Superchip!!

Thanks for the advice...I'm going to contact my salesman again to see if he has any more info.
How do you like yours?
What options were available...did you get them?
I'm curious as to how it rides with those low profile 20 inchers.
I can't wait to take a trip with my truck towing my Heritage behind it.
Thanks again.

Just saw one this morning at my dealer. Nice truck but the dealer has "Additional Dealer Markup - $5,000" hand written across the sticker. This puts the bottom line at over $38K (!). Is this what they are going for? This makes the Lightning look like a bargain.
I saw one going towards Austin, Tx. pulling a trailer with a Harley on it this past Saturday. WOW!!!

Yes, I really like driving mine around. The only options are a 6-CD changer and a rear window slider; I got both and enjoy them. Of course, if your truck is already being built, it's too late to order these. Maybe your dealer has added them anyway. The CD changer is cool because you then get a cassette player in the dash; otherwise, a single CD unit with no cassette player. Mine shipped without the hard tonneau cover, and I'm unsure about later production. Ford reduced the sticker price to compensate, which I thought was commendable.
The 20" wheels are one of the alluring features, and they're not too stiff riding at all.
Good luck with your dealer; let us know, eh!

Hate to hear about the additional dealer markup, as I understood it was considered bad business practice if not downright illegal to market above MSRP. Anyway, you're right about the price being up there. However, if you consider the whole package (full leather, billet grille, 20" unique rims, and the other Harley appointments), there is added value which I feel will be maintained just because these are rare pieces. The wheels and tires alone account for a significant part of the overall out-the-door price.
It ain't no Lightning, but damn nice eye candy just the same!
