thinking about an '07 HD

I am evaluating some new car options and one of the things I am considering is replacing my 98 f150 which needs some work with a newer truck. I have always liked the looks of the 06-07 HDs and have found an 07 locally for about 26k with 21k miles. It is AWD supercrew with nav and moonroof and I just had a couple quick questions.

1. What kind of mileage do you guys see with the AWD? I woudl expect it would be a little worse than a normal 4x4 F150 since in additoin to the rear wheels moving there is a chance from time to time that one or both of the front wheels are moving also which could lower fuel economy....

2. ANy comments on the differences (from a capability standpoint) of the AWD/4HI system on the HDs versus the 2HI/4HI/4LO system on the rest of the F150s? Is there no access to 4LO in the HD or do you put it in 4HI and then use the shifter to put it in 1 or 2? Anyone wish they had the normal F150 4x4 drivetrain instead of the AWD?

3. Does this sound like a fair price to pay for this truck?

thanks!

it's the same as the limited F-150.

I do not know about the all wheel drive but it shouldn't affect mileage since most "newer" F-150's have the front drive assembly turning all the time anyway (due to the lack of locking hubs) the transfer case isn't engaged but it's causeing inertia drag.

I paid a lot less for my '03 years ago (and it's got the factory supercharger with just a tad more miles now).

if the '07 you are looking at is supercharged then yeah it sounds almost fair. if it ain't then make the dealer put a whipple or procharger on it before you buy it.

The only supercharger option from Ford was the Saleen ship-through. This was not available on the all wheel drive. On my wifes AWD '07 Harley f-150 she's getting around 15-16 MPG, with mixed city / highway driving. If you're buying one used, look it over real good and keep drinving their asking price down. The value of trucks in general has gone down and dealers are having a harder time moving them. We got my wife for $ 24K fully loaded with 24K on the odometer! Might want to come over and check out the National Harley Truck Owners Club: http://www.nhtoc.com. It's free to join! - Jeremy
