It really depends on what year of Harley Rim you want to put on.

How low do you want to go?

Yeah, those wheels should bolt up just fine.

Look for a lowering kit for your truck. If its built for a 4x4 it should work.

I just picked up the truck and thanks for the info. It needs some tlc which is pissing me off because i didnt realize until I left the dealer!
But anyway I need the actuaters for door lock. it has an exhaust leak and some other little stuff. things I am looking to do asap. Tune up for a 5.4 any suggestions? Fix exhaust leak. I need side steps so my wife can get in the truck(whant the harley ones in chrome). also a soft cover for the bed

Hmm, Tune up. If you got the money I would get a Harley Exhaust system look a like, since thats the look your after. If not just get the leak fixed. How many miles on it? Tune up I usually just do the basics when I buy a used vehicle. Change the fluids and filters. Plugs and sometimes I run fuel additive. Depending on mileage it might need a few more things.

Are you going to do all the work yourself for the tune up?

You don't need to find a stock piece, that will cost a boat load of money unless you get lucky on Ebay. I'm sure someone offers an aftermarket piece that is similar to the Harley.

If your truck has that many miles on it maybe you should save up and get a real Harley after you've had this one for awhile. It would be alot easier and probly way cheaper in the end. Thats just my two cents..

The older harleys dont have 4 wheel drive. I am going to use the truck everyday and I am not going to go all out crazy to make it an exact hd.

just want rims, sidestep and exhaust and maybe front bumper. If I had a real hd I would never drive it, wouldnt want to mess it up

I see what your saying. I can speak from experience when I say they are a miserable truck to try and keep real nice. I baby mine every moment I am near it and even still I can spot every scratch.

I'm not sure what to tell you for the tune up. Really I would do just the basics like I was telling you I usually do when I buy something used. Change all the fluids and filters over to high end stuff, something for high mileage vehicles. Change the plugs, maybe o2 sensors since they probly haven't been done. I would run some additive too, I'm sure if you search there is a topic on engine and fuel additives. Get the front end and brakes checked..Or do it yourself if thats your plan.

find someone selling thiers OR find someone with a Harley truck and use them, thier proof of ownership and thier VIN to order it form Ford "for thier truck". you can find take-off wheels all over the net.

you say you need a tune up??????????????????
what kind of work are you willing to do to your engine?
it sounds to me like your truck is bearly running and you still want to try to clone a harley truck with a beat up banger??????

look at my album, I've got an '03 Harley truck 2 tone and the green F-150

my green truck is a 2001, with some mods and in no way compares to the 2000 harley trucks except for the stance and wheels

post up some pics of yours so we can see what you are working with.

That is exactly what I want mine to look like. Also mine is a 4x4 and I herd if you lower them it might mess up the transfer case. is that true.
As for my pickup its not really a beat up banger. its a clean high milage truck. the reason for me buying it, is one when snows I have the 4x4 and 2 I work in manhatten and drive to work. So I couldnt bring myself to buying an hd and driving it to the city. also I bought a house and need to do some repairs, so home depot run and hauling stuff... I just couldnt see myself scratching up the bed.
so buying the truck I have now, I can make it look like a hd and really not have to worry about the bed, the milage and killing the interior.
Second its has 114,000 on it and I just want to take care of it so that it will last me.

i don't know anything about lowering a 4X4, mine has been lowered 1 inch up fornt and 2 inches in the rear it's a 2 wheel drive though so you'd probabably need some 2 inch drop shackels and remove the rear lift blocks I have no ideea about the front except amybe some 2001-04 lightning springs and have a good alignment done and hope the pinion angle can be corrected with shims

the only issue with the exterior appearance is the fact that the runningboards are no longer available so I am going to end up cutting mine down to suck them closer to the body
