Another Canadian Harley, right on, I'm from Edmonton Alberta. As for the the dash, I treat it just like the exterior of the truck, whatever works on the outside paint works on the piano, however be careful not to get wax on your interior plastic, it leaves a nasty white paste.

I guess yes you could wash them with car wash soap, I don't see any harm in it. I have yet to really wash mine. I carry a microfiber dust pad in my truck and dust them fairly often. If you go down to the Canadian Tire theres 3 bottles of Meguiars Polishes, its a 3 step process, its written right on the bottle itself and they are numbered one through 3. The first step is a cleaner, which removes any dirt that you can't really see. After that theres a wax, which brings out shine. Then theres a carnauba wax it protect and increase the shine. I usually apply with a mircofiber then remove with a different microfiber. I use new rags for each step. This has given me good results as far as waxing the piano goes. For cleaning I would probly just try warm water without soap on a microfiber, then dry it with a microfiber. Hope that helps you out
