Peformance Chip for 07 Harley

hey guys, im new to the site and just picked up an 07 HD. i tried to do some searches but i couldnt get any solid results.

i am hoping i can get some help trying to find out if there is a chip that i can buy that will increase my hp and tourqe. im not looking for any outrageous increases as i know more than a simple chip will have to be installed. i dont really know anything about tuning an engine with one of those devices i see people always talking about. im just looking for something i can buy and have a mechanic install for me.

if anybody can help me out i would greatly appreciate it, thank you.

Welcome.

Look in the Chips & programming forum. Search for Xcal2.

Custom tuning is the way to go.

It sounds to me like your after just a simple chip. I don't think you'll need a mechanic to install it, they are a pretty straight forward piece. I suggest the Edge Evo. I installed one on my 07 Harley, it didnt give me any insane increase, but it did about what you would expect. Installation is a breeze, it comes with a pod you put onto your dash with velcro and one cable that connects into the diagnostics port under your dash, if you can plug in an extension cord you can install this chip yourself. It also comes with an instruction manual for using it that explains everything very well. I have some pictures in my gallery.

Here is a picture of it for you.

As you can see it just sits on top of the dash and it also offers you more gauges

I couldn't give you an exact number for what I've gained with the chip. Edge claims that the chip is good for somewere around 25hp I believe. It comes with 3 levels you can set your truck on. The first level simply adjusts were and how your transmission changes gears. The second level is for towing. And the third is for performance. I am still breaking my truck in, so I try to run it on level 1 for the most part, but I have taken it for a few rides on level 3 and you do feel a difference. It doesn't turn your truck into a Ferrai or anything, but with a Chip and a Cold Air intake you can feel a bit more power. If you have the money sitting around I would recommend it, and you really don't need a mechanic to install it, its simply plug and play, as long as you have instructions you will have no problems.
