Has anyone figured out how to add some functional running boards?
Got to do something for the vertically challenged wife to get in & out easier.

 

lower the truck with a 2/4 or 3/5 drop

 

 

I installed the step pipes on my 2007 HD.. The lower, under the rocker panels and doors trim off.

I replaced them with SS pipes that have two step pads on them. They look good and they work as good as running boards.

 

Tom's GT, let me know if you want to get rid of your stock HD tubes that came on the truck. I want them for my lariat. Thanks.

 

Anyone have a link to a power retract running boards?
I have a machine shop and might make adaptors if I can get a drawing or info on some.

 

I put on a set of power retractable running boards on my 07 Harley. They are made by AMP Research (http://www.amp-research.com/) and were really easy to install. One dealer told me he installed them on a truck and was able to modify them to keep the chrome tubes. I just took mine off. If you are able to figure something out I would like to take a look at them.

 

Thanks, next month I plan on ordering them and installing them.

IT looks like they would clear the HD fake tubes but if not I can make sub brackets to the frame to allow it to.
