Store an HD?

Living in Wisconsin, I would like to store my "06' HD for Jan and Feb. I would like any suggestions since I have never stored a vehicle before. Suggestions I have so far are: change the oil before storing, disconnect one (either positive or negative side) of the battery. Do these sound right? Any other suggestions would help.

While mine is not a HD I do usally put mine away in the winter and rarely drive it. What I do is usally make sure it is clean and nice coat of wax on her. I sotore it in my garage under a car cover. I take a plastic bag and place on the exhaust with a rubber band to help keep moisture out (read that in a mag). Pesonally I do not undo the battery I just hook up a battery tender to it to maintain a good charge. I also throw some Fuel Sta-Bil in the gas tank to keep it fresh. IMO if you are just two months and are going to be driving it again after that I would not change the oil unless you are close to a oil change then yes but would not really worry about it.

Would think for two months make sure the truck is clean, cover if you can with a good car cover, plastic bag on exhaust, hook up a battery tender if you have one other wise you might want to disconnect the neg side. This is the first year for me using Sta-Bil in the tank but have used it in my atv's, mowers,etc.. for years and always start great when i come back to them. This is just usally how I do mine.
