Stereo Boost Options

I've got the '06 HD F150 and I love it, but I can't crank the factory stereo loud enough for my taste. What are my options for boosting the output? I shopped around a little and was told new/additional speakers and possibly an amp are my only options.

I had the same issue with my '06 H/D and had

Magnolia HiFi in Bellevue,WA yank out the factory stuff and put in Dynamat Extreme inside all the doors, the entire floor and firewall. They then installed a Diamond D-6 Amp, MB-Quart 6" Separates with crossover networks, in all 4 doors, a really nice Pioneer Sub in a custom enclosure, and all of the components fit under the rear seat. I had a nice Kenwood Head unit installed in the dash, it fits perfectly and looks like its stock, XM satellite radio, and IPod interface cable in the console, and it sounds fabulous! The Pioneer sub is a new model that doesnt take up alot of depth - I needed that in order to keep it all under the seat. The separate seat with the Jack tools under it still opens all the way to access the jack, but the other 2 seats wont open up now because of the sub enclosure. This is the only trade off, but well worth the price. The Kenwood is a single CD player, with all the usual, AM FM,Satellite, and Ipod.. The sound is crisp, clean, with more than enough sub woofer bass than you would ever want, and its all adjustable!! Love it would not ever go back to that weak factory stuff. Wait till you see the lame speakers that are installed by the factory... Good luck on your project. Dan F
