check engine light codes.

I am an owner of a 2002 HArley. REcently I was on the throttle and the check engine light came on. I ran it and it came up PO-171 and PO174. Which indicates that the 2 banks are running lean. What can i do to fix this problem. I used to own a lightning and the engine light came on right before the engine blew so I really do not want this to happen again. Help please

When did you last change the fuel filter?
If they get clogged, they lean the engine out a lot.
Try that first and look for any vacuum leaks would be my advice.

I will try to check on that fuel filter. Im kinda afraid of this problem because i used to own a lightning and the engine light came on right before my motor blew. I had mods on it of course and it was the chip runnin too aggressive but I dont want the same thing happenin to my Harley. My harley is stock but the thing i think is wrong is there is something in the vacuum system leaking because sometimes my a/c shoots through the defrost vents and I just can't find that leak to it. Any suggestions on how to find a leak in the system?? Aprreciate da help
