The belt could be worn or stretched to its limit.
Check the idler pulley and make sure that it is not at the end of its travel.
If it is, then it's time for a new belt. I have a Gatorback which is fine.
If you still have problems, there are aftermarket idler pulley arrangements that give more belt wrap.
These are available from LFP, Magnum Powers, JLP and other specialist aftermarket suppliers of parts for the HD and Lightning.

Hope you guys don't mind me chimming in. I have a 05 lariat and I get a squeal when I get on the throttle. It happens when it shifts gears. It's been that way since it was new. Now I have 11k and it still squeals. Should I say something to the dealer?

Yes, if it's making an abnormal noise, you should get it checked out while you are still under warranty.

The only reason I haven't said anything yet is because it only makes a slight squeal when I drive it hard. I'm figuring they will say it's my fault and the truck isn't made to be driven like this.

If it wasn't made to be driven like that, then it wouldn't be made by Ford that way.
Take it to the dealer and have them look.

Good news, I had my truck in for the 12k service. I told them about my belt squeal problem and they replaced it and the belt tensioner pully. No more squeal.
Thanks, EnglishAdam

Update, 17,500 miles now and it's back again. I guess I'll just buy a gatorback.

I was just ,,,well playing around. Myself and a few other of the boys just went with cog set-ups.. So I posted that up as a cure for the belt slip....

Bgstew6, running a M.P. at 19 ½ lbs. boost..

D-PTuner, running a Eaton at around 15 lbs. boost…

Mine; Cabin video some half throttle stuff, I’m licking at 18 lbs. of boost (Eaton)…..

I believe what your hearing is the accessory belt slipping. Mine happens when I hammer it and let off, then transmission shifts into gear causing the accessory belt to slip. This is common when gunning it and letting off then tranny shifting. Ive replaced belts and idlers, to no avail it still squeals.
