A little advise please.

Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum.
I'm planning on buying my first F-150 in a few weeks. I've been looking at '00 and '01 Harley-Davidson models. I prefer the supercab model. Anyway I would like to know what to look out for on these models (if anything), and what are they like to own and run?

Thanks, Alex.

Hi Alex, welcome to F150 online.

The 00 and 01 Harley is a tidy truck although they were not supercharged in those years. Performance will be similar to any other 5.4 F150.
Things to look out for? Well, just the same as any other vehicle really.
Try to find one with low miles and some sort of service history.
If it looks good and has been regularly serviced, it will probably be ok.
If it looks trashed, the oil is burnt and it's covered in dents, look for another one.

For a list of recalls on the 2001 model, go here http://www.internetautoguide.com/aut...ide/index.html

One thing to watch out for is that if the vehicle has been outside the USA for sometime, it may not have been serviced correctly or had any safety recalls done.

Good luck with your search.

Thanks Adam. I'll probably end up buying one in the UK anyway. I've looked into getting one shipped over from the states, but it's expensive and takes ages and it still needs to have the lights converted. I would buy in the states if it meant I could get a better one for the same money. My brother in law has a Dodge Ram 5.7 Laramie (they're too big, you can't go anywhere in them) that he bought in the UK and has full service history. There seem to be plenty of specialist places doing the servicing.
