Pics of Speakers in Expy Console

I got a few picts of the infinity speakers I put into the expy console. I put the expy console in a few weeks ago, still have some finishing work to do on the back side of the console where the radio controls go, and I have to stick on the speaker covers. Most likely I'll incorporate the original controls into the radio for a like-factory effect. The sound is incredible! Let me know what you think!

Lookin' good. Now I see what you meant. You say you are running these off the Head Unit without an amp? I have a set of Infinity Kappa 6x8"to drop in the front doors but I am waiting to get another set for the back and an amp to run them.

Where did you get your Expy console? I am looking right now but all the ones I see are either way up there in price or the wrong color/year.

I got mine out of a 98 Expediton that I sold to a friend. He didn't want the full style one so I took it out and stored it. It was an eddie bauer so it was the tan color. I lightly sanded mine, cleaned it with alcohol, and spray painted it using plastic paint. I messed up the first time because I used gloss black and it was too dark and shiny, didn't match. So I prepped it again and used flat black. It matched almost perfectly. The final step in it matching perfectly was a coat of armor-all. You can get an expy console from ebay motors or a junk yard. You do have to watch out what year you get though, 97-99 have small console lids because the capt chairs have arm rests, while the 00-02 consoles have a wide lid because the capt chairs lost the armrests. You can run all your speakers on the deck, which is how I have mine for the time being. If you turn it anywhere over 3/4 up, the sound will cut out from time to time, and it isn't that loud. An amp for the infinity's would be the way to go.
