Is 2006 Harley F-150 a work truck??

Hey,

I'm new to this site, I'm about to buy a new Ford F-150. I really like the new Harley one, but I need this truck for work(tile & marble installer) and i need it for my weekend pleasure as well. What do you guys think?

If I were you I would spring for an F250, since you will more than likely be hauling or pulling your tools and supplies around everywhere. Not that the f150 can't handle it, I just believe you would enjoy the F250 better for work.

If you are dead set on F150 though, Harley shouldn't be a problem.

The 2006 HD is just an appearance package.
There's no difference between it and the other 5.4 trucks. It can haul and tow exactly the same.

Why do you guys feel you need a F250 to haul anything more than a bag of groceries?

I lay tile/marble/hardwood in my 05 f150. But It will only haul abot 350 to 400 feet at a time. What i like about it is the tall bedside. i got a truxedo roll up cover and can get my felker and mk saw in there under the cover no problem.
An f250 would probally work better but i loved the ride of the f150.

Hey Guys! I appreciate the replies. I really like the F-150, but why not go with a Harley edition, it looks really good and its fast. I was thinking about getting a car and truck but why not almost all in one.

The Harley edition is no faster than any other 5.4 F150. They all have the same exact engines.

black...scratch scratch...orange harley strip yuck...short box...HD is awaste of money if you work a half ton truck, A XL or XLT would hold up better and cost a lot less.
A HD is a driver/show truck, not a work horse.

I just left the gym, which is right next to a Ford dealer. They have a black HD F150 settiing there. It's a looker.. Knocks you down. I have a black 2006 XLT F150, with the chrome package. I looked at them right next to one another. Now, I purchased my truck just to haul my bikes around. Either with my trailer on in the bed. The HD has a short bed, whereas, I have the 6 1/2 bed. However, they Harley looks sweet. I peeked inside, it got sweeter. I looked at the price tage.. And remembered what I paid for mine.. The Harley is super sweet. Also, I thought that the Harley had a little engine tweak, and stiffer shocks.

This Harley was a SC like mine. If I had to do it all over, I have no will power, I would get the Harley. My god that thing is on the money.. I would just have to suffer with the shorter bed, and my towing needs don't exceed 4000 llbs and most of the time around 2500 lbs, so I would be right in the ball park. I am going to put some 22 wheels on my XLT, get some Harley front and rear lights, and if I don't offend anybody, I might get some badges too, and I am off to the races!!
