I'm not sure if it's just my truck or if all the Harley trucks are like this, but above the rearview mirror where it has the digital compass readout isn't there supposed to be a gas mileage counter and stuff like that? My friend has a '01 Excursion and he has all kinds of things on there. The one in my truck has option buttons under the readout but only compass direction works. Is mine not working or is that just the way it's supposed to be? Is there a way to add on something to give other readouts?

 

I noticed the same thing, my temp readout is on my sterio, inside and outside temp, I will look some more, I never thought about it, I figured it was an option that they did not put in,and yes you can have anything done for a price, owners manual might reflect the options, I do not rememder seeing that but I did not look.

A friend of mine has an Expy with the mpg/blah/blah thing and I was pressing the buttons on mine trying to get it to work till out of frustration, I resorted to reading the handbook
It does seem kind of cheap to me. Perhaps the didn't want people to see the crappy MPG you can get from the Supercharged engine if you drive "enthusiastically"

There's no reason why you couldn't fit the set up from the Expy but you would need all the sensors and wiring harness.
Seems like a lot of work just to have the mpg/miles till empty option.

 

Yep, I'm probably better off not knowing I'm getting like 8mpg by flooring it everywhere...lol

 

I checked and the only thing you can do is calibrate it if it is off in direction, i do like the word Adam used for hot rodding it(enthusiastically) thats what I will tell my wife the next time she bitches for me gettin on it.
