Does anyone know if Ford by chance built a limited number of '03 HD's with the Lightning ECU and pulley?

Reason I am asking, I ran into an owner today that was informed that when he purchased his '03 HD new, it was a limited HD with more HP than normal. He's had the truck in for normal service (50K on it now) and has been told the same thing by the service department. He wanted to know if it was or just some BS they were telling him.

 

I've never heard of this.
As far as I'm aware, the 03 HD comes with 340 hp compared to the Lightning 380 bhp.
The L has a smaller supercharger pulley and slightly more aggresive tuning.

I'm calling BS.

 

Nope, he's been fed a line of BS.

 

I had a guy approach me one day about my Supercrew with the Lightning front end and wheels on it - of course I immediately told him it was not a Lightning. He then tells me he has a "Cobra Edition" Supercrew. I said "oh really" and went to look at it - essentially he had added steps, aftermarket exhaust and Cobra emblems to his work truck, I said "wow, that thing must be fast" and proceeded to walk away laughing.
