I went to the dealer yesterday to see when the parts are supposd to be in I was told they had the parts in for the 2000 - 2002 trucks but they were defective so they were sent back and I'd have to wait for my 1998 truck, so if i was to use the cruse and it caught fire would i be liable or ford?? after all it wasnt a registered letter they sent....HMMMMMMM???

just got the retro, what they put in was an inline fuse, I asked them if they were going to replace the switch and they told me that the latest retro for them calls for just putting in the fuse, if the switch is leaking they will replace that too!!!!!!!!!!!!

as well already know, the reported fires resulted from the leaks. I did not want to take any chances (wanted to sleep better at night) and got the new units and upgraded both my '01HD and '01 L:
OLD UNIT (leak usually from cracks in orange-colored diaphragm)

NEW UNIT

That is what I was thinking, why would I want to wait until it starts leaking, I think I will buy the sencer and put it in just for that reason, thanks

Heck, most of us do not bat an eyelash when we dump coins on mods for our trucks. We all pamper our trucks and do all we can to get the best for it.
IMHO, paying the $20 for the new part is cheap insurance when the issue at hand is SAFETY! GIT R DONE, fellas!
