2001 HD owners

Just wondering if there are any 2001 HD owners here. I haven't seen any mention of the 01s, which was the first year of the SuperCrew, but no supercharger.

I love my 2001, but I might have to invest in a supercharger for it.

I thought about getting a supercharger for my '01 also but I decided to go a different route:

Nice looking truck, man. Curious what mods you've done to yours!

Thanks. I haven't done too much to mine. As you can see from the pictures, I have to Mustangs that get all the money. The only things I've done are:

Spray in bedliner
Towing receiver
HD Hitch cover plate
Stereo and MP3 Keg
Chrome A/C *****
Chrome Shifter ****
Chrome Tilt Wheel lever
02 HD pedals
Diamond Clear headlights/turn signal
Bug deflector
K&N Filter

That's about it. Mostly asthetic mods.

is your wallet ready??

May I humbly recommend the following mods:
1. FTVB: Factory Tech Valve Body. Gives you shorter, crisper shifts, also helps prolong the life of your tranny. ($250 shipped with 4X4 deep pan & filter)

2. e-fan: stock fan is about 12 lbs getting a free ride on your crankshaft. get some hp back by replacing it with an electric unit. (list is about $460 but can be had for around $380)

3. shocks: replace crappy stockers with bilsteins ($65 each x4)

4. while you have the shocks off, add a rear anti-sway bar (to complement the front). Hellwig goes for about $150

5. exhaust: got to have some "noise". catback for about $200 installed

6. rear shackles: drop the rear to even it with the front (unless you like the RAKE)

Cannot add to your BLING mods, looks like you got that pretty well covered already. However, you can also consider adding Navi chrome door handles & window trim. Also chrome the lower grille (valance to match the upper).
Saw that you also posted already @ NHTOC. See you around, man

Hey thanks for the tips. Funny, most of the items you mentioned I was already considering. Especially the exhaust and electric fan. Not sure if I want to drop the back though. Yes I'd prefer it to be not raked, but I also do a lot of towing so it might be best to keep it raked.

How easy is it to install the FTVB? I'd definitely like crisper shifts.

My truck has about 63K miles so it's probably about time for some new shocks.

Again, appreciate the recommendations. Now if I can only interrupt the flow of money to the two Mustangs and the house to spend on the truck, I'll be in business! And of course, I need new tires now!! Probrably will end up going with some Fuzions or the same crappy Good Years to save some bucks.

Here are the links to my Mustangs:

nice 'stangs

That '73 MACH1 brought back memories I have a '00 stang vert (V6,3.8L only though) which my wife drives but will soon go to my eldest daughter.

The FTVB is pretty short and simple, here's the link as described by Gregg Evans himself:
http://stores.ebay.com/Factory-Tech-...tructions.html

Pretty sure you'll like the difference. With the miles you have and the towing you do, the Bilsteins will be a sure winner.

Cool thanks for the link. Where did you get the whole package for $250 and why go with the 4X4 pan?

The 4x4 pan holds about 6 quarts more tranny fluid (more time to heat up= cooler temps) plus it has a drain plug. However, perfectly OK to reuse the stock pan. Got the whole kaboodle for $250 shipped here:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWA%3AIT

he does not have a NEW listing but e-mail him directly (via ebay link) to do the deal.

Thanks, I emailed him. Where did you get the electric fan, shocks and sway bar? Probably won't get to that right away, but I'd still like to know where some good deals are.

It holds 2 extra quarts, not 6. The 4x4 pan would be HUGE if it held an extra 6 quarts!

Got an email from Greg Evans. He said he no longer sells them as it competes with his dealers. I emailed him back to see if he can point me in the right direction.

Sweet truck, I am digging the one Mustang you can see. I have had a 71 mach1 with a 429CJ and a 65 with a 6 banger, current FOMOCO is a 03 HD.
