Stainless pedals... good/bad?

I've read that the late model stainless/rubber pedals have a tendancy to peel, or something along those lines with the rubber. Does the rubber actually rip, or could it just be glued or something? Are you guys still having problems with them? I'm thinking about putting a set on my truck, but not if they're going to come apart. I see them on ebay for around $60 quite often.

thanks...
