Spare Tire Lock key *missing*

I bought my daughter a used 2003 Harley F-150 and found out that the Spare Tire Lock key was missing. I tried to use the lock key from my 2002 Harley F-150 and it doesn't fit. I was wondering if they are all keyed differently from year to year and/or from truck to truck and if so does anyone know how i would go about getting a replacement?

I do not believe they are different from year to year. Check with the dealer about a replacement.

Went through the same thing recently. If there is no pouch with a ID# for the spare tire key than the only way to find out the new one is to find a dealer that has a master set. The keys are made by McGard(McGard and if you call them they can take your zip code and tell you what local dealers will have a master key set. One thing to keep in mind is the key looks nothing like the lock when looking down that tube. Let me know if you have any more questions. Most of the dealers I talked to had no idea what they were talking about.

here's what I did!

Took my '01 HD to a local tire shop & had them remove the lock using an "emergency" key using an impact wrench. Then I phoned McGuard, mailed the removed lock with $10 & got it back with the correct key + a key number/code for future reference. Hope this works.
