Another HD Screw Bites the Dust
Another HD Screw Bites the Dust
Was still not satisfied with the performance of my HD so last night I went to my ex-wifes dealership and picked up a 03 Lightning. Since she works there I got it on the D plan so I'm in it at 28k instead of 33,500. Going back this afternoon after work to pull my pulley, chip, and intake off the HD. The rear end work is just a loss I guess. The HD was awesome but it was too heavy and bulky for my tastes, and for some reason even after I did the boost bypass I still had a killer hesitation between the 1-2 shift at full throttle. The 8lb pulley was blowing that thing as hard as it could but it still wasn't enough. Moving to the L board now guys. Good luck and enjoy your trucks.

The hesitation on the 1-2 upshift is programmed into the computer. The torque reduction algorithm cuts off fuel to the engine for 4/10ths of a second on the 1-2 upshift to prevent damage to the transmission from the sudden surge of torque when it slams into second gear. Your chip will need to be reburned to eliminate this. But it is not advisable, as the transmission could be damaged.
