Thumbs up Looking for a HD grill.

Does anybody have a stock grill their willing to part with since you changed to a billet grill? I'm looking to upgrade to a Harley grill since they look much better than my stock one.

Thanks,
Bob

You know, they say timing is everything. I 'just' sold a new OEM 2001 HD grill insert to another member of this board. Good luck with your search though.

If you don't mind me asking, how much did you sell it for? I'm trying to get a ballpark figure.

Thanks,
Bob

On average, most 02 HD grilles go for around 200

The HD grill I had was an '01 and I sold it for $150.00 + shipping. Probably could have gotten a little more, but was only trying to recoup what I'd paid for it. Good luck finding one for your truck.

Cool

Go to ebay and Ebay Motors, car and truck parts, put Harley in the search box, hit enter. There are usually some there for under $150

don't get one from karkraft.com They are the 01 style grilles, not the thicker bar 02 style, but if you want the 01 style with the thinner bars, the one karkraft sells are the factory rejects, so they have some defect and fitment issues, and they don't have the black paint on the sides of the bars and on the vertical bars, so you are MUCH better off spending a little more money and getting a OEM HD grille

Here is a 2002 HD Grille I found on ebay.

It is going for $200 buy it now.

Are you specifically looking for an '01 or '02/'03 grille? That might help in the search.

Anybody got a pic of the 02 and newer grills? I think the one I saw was like the one from Carcraft but I don't have anything to compare it to.

Thanks again,
Bob

hows this for a side by side shot?

on the left is a 02 style grille (7 bars) and on the right a 00 style grille (14 bars). the 00 and 01 are almost exactly the same, but the inner surround on the 00 is black, on the 01 its chrome. the 02-03 grilles are identical though. Anyway, just a fyi, the 02 style grilles are more work to keep clean because they water spot really easily cuz the thicker bars. the 00-01 are a breeze to keep clean cuz they dont' show waterspots

all of them are chromed plastic though, so very easy maintence unlike real billet. hope this helps some

i'll make it even tougher for ya
the 02-03 grilles IMO are more photogenic, but the 00-01 grilles look better in person IMO

have fun choosing....whatever you pick though you can't go wrong.
