black sucks

I have been reading this message board since september when i bought my truck and finally registered today. Anyways my question is....How do you fix the spider webbing and swirl marks in the black paint. Don't say Zaino's cause I already ordered it and have used it on other vehicles in the past. Isn't there a spray sealant or protectant that you can get and price isn't a problem. One more thing I bet I am the only one with a Raven Glasstite Top on the bed. At first I thought it looked kind of old man like but I get alot of good compliments and plenty of stares. I only purchased it for my move but I think I will leave it on until the summer, besides everyone in Washington State has one on their truck.

Scott,
I can appreciate your assessment of your Raven top! ... I truly AM an old H-D guy! I, too, think they look "sucky"! I live here, too! ... I would NEVER own one!! Since you're already moved ... why not give it to your Sister?!!

BTW! ... If Zaino isn't doing it? ... then prayer works!

Meguiar's Mirror Glaze Swirl Remover #9. and a good orbital buffer will fix your swirls you have from the factory.

well, zaino isn't a heavy swirl or scratch remover, so i wouldn't expect that to help at all. Get the truck professionallly buffed maybe, then start the zaino process again to help keep the paint nicer again.

and only use 100% cotton wash mits and towels that are MADE IN USA!!! the ones made in pakistan or whatever may say 100% cottn, but really aren't and that puts scratches in the paint also

I used Zymol!

When I first got my truck I had Swirl marks too, either from factory or from a ****y first waxing at the dealer. The first thing did was call the guy that was in charge of the detailing at the shop I used to manage in Miami and see what he thought. He said to go to Discount auto parts or pep boys and buy ZYMOL Blue swirl and scratch remover/ cleaner / wax. I did and also bought Maguirs showroom shine wax. I spent the entire day cleaning it, drying it and REMOVING SWIRLS. First i used the ZYMOL on the entire truck and let it sit for a couple hrs after I finished. Then I used the other stuff just to boost the shine up some. It worked awesome and was only about a total of $25. The swirls are permenent so the will never totally be gone. after about 6 months I notice them coming back if I look good into the suns glare. Thats when I know its time for A real waxing and not some $30 detail shop job.
Remember, the swirls are caused by the first buffing and polishing to the paint after its painted and will never go away unless you get it repainted. A 12 pack, some elbow grease and a full days worth of rubbing will temp. hide em.

I have the same issue

I have the same issue with the swirls. So I took it back to the dealer and told them to fix it. They currently have it right now said it will take about 1 week to do so. They said they have to buff it, polish it, then reglaze it.
